How to install fonts

Download the font (usually a .zip), unzip it, and install the .ttf or .otf files. Apps that were open need restarting to see new fonts.

Mac

  1. Double-click the .ttf or .otf file.
  2. Click Install Font in Font Book.
  3. Restart apps like Word or Photoshop.

Windows

  1. Right-click the font file.
  2. Choose Install (or Install for all users).
  3. Restart your apps.

Canva

Most Google Fonts are already in Canva: search the name. Canva Pro users can upload other fonts they have the rights to.

Cricut Design Space

Install the font on your computer, then fully restart Design Space; it appears under System fonts.

Google Docs

Click the font menu → More fonts and search; Google Fonts are available directly.

Troubleshooting

  • Font not showing? Restart the app, then the computer.
  • Variable fonts: some apps prefer the “static” files in the download’s static folder.
  • Sharing documents: export to PDF so others see the font even if they don’t have it.
